You And I 03:40
Verse 1 Let me see what you see Feel the pain thats in you Cause your loss is mine too You don't smile like you do, What is happening to you Show me where does it hurt. Pre-Chorus Standing in the waves, I can see you falling down Take my heart, borrow it imma get you out..get you out. Chorus You and I Learning what it means to fly Stealing back the dreams we lost Knowing it will be alright. You and I Learning what it means to love Dancing in the dreams we found Knowing it will be alright. Verse 2 Let me hear what you hear When did you begin to fear Let me wipe away your tears Pre-chorus Standing in the waves, I can see you falling down Take my heart, borrow it imma get you out..get you out. Chorus You and I Learning what it means to fly Stealing back the dreams we lost Knowing it will be alright. You and I Learning what it means to love Dancing in the dreams we found Knowing it will be alright.

NEW DAY 03:09
Lyrics:Should we give up, the clock just seems to tick away we can't help but lose our faith. Mistakes, I've made Ghosts keep coming up again We are in above our heads But your song will lead us Out of this hurricane An our crumbled dreams will float and fly again We're a melody away Maybe we'll find a New Day Oh oh oh oh A Melody away Maybe we'll find a new day Should we give in to a dream made out of clay Souls may die and drift away Live out our hearts and be everything we can Instead of sinking in the sand But your song will lead us Out of this hurricane And our crumbled dreams will float and fly again We're a melody away Maybe we'll find a New Day Oh oh oh oh A Melody away Maybe we'll find a new day Oh oh oh oh A Melody away Maybe we'll find We could waste away our lives Only on getting things Just a step away from seeing brighter days This time, I'll see the sun begin to shine. Oh oh oh oh Oh oh oh oh Oh oh oh oh A Melody away Maybe we'll find a new day Oh oh oh oh A Melody away Maybe we'll find a new day

I Don’t Wanna Run Verse It’s five am and I’m starting off the day But I don’t wanna run, I don’t wanna run The bus is late and I’m going to miss the train But I don’t wanna run, I don’t wanna run I missed my stop and there is no other way But I don’t wanna run, I don’t wanna run How much longer am I gonna have to wait. Cause I don’t wanna run, I don’t wanna run Chorus A city filled with dreamers Looking for that golden bird Running towards a hidden prize But I’m not running I’ll just fly Verse Where am I going, how’d I get here anyways Cause I don’t wanna run, I don’t wanna run If this is it then this is just a big mistake Cause I don’t wanna run, I don’t wanna run Should I be running or be planning my escape Cause I don’t wanna run, I don’t wanna run I think of you and decide I’m going to stay Cause I don’t wanna run, I don’t wanna run Chorus A city filled with dreamers Looking for that golden bird Running towards a hidden prize But I’m not running I’ll just fly Bridge I think of you, me and all that we can be And I don’t wanna run, I don’t wanna run Not gonna let this dream drift out to the sea I don’t wanna ru-u-u-un I’m going to fly with you for all eternity I don’t wanna run, I don’t wanna run The choice is mine to choose and I choose to believe I don’t wanna ru-u-u-un Chorus A city filled with dreamers Looking for that golden bird Running towards a hidden prize But I’m not running I’ll just fly Bridge I think of you, me and all that we can be And I don’t wanna run, I don’t wanna run Not gonna let this dream drift out to the sea I don’t wanna ru-u-u-un I’m going to fly with you for all eternity I don’t wanna run, I don’t wanna run The choice is mine to choose and I choose to believe I don’t wanna ru-u-u-un I don’t wanna ru-u-u-un I don’t wanna ru-u-u-un

Cause you gotta keep your head up So you can let your her down You gotta keep your head up So you can let your head down I've been waiting on the sunset Bills on my mindset I can't get deny they're getting high Higher than my income Income's breadcrumbs I've been trying to survive The glow that the sun gives Right around sunset Helps me realize This is just a journey Drop your worries You are gonna turn out fine. Oh, you'll turn out fine. Fine, oh, you'll turn out fine. Cause you gotta keep your head up, oh, So you can let your hair down, eh. you gotta keep your head up, oh, So you can let your hair down, eh. I know it's hard, know its hard, To remember sometimes, But you gotta keep your head up, oh, So you can let your hair down, eh. I've got my hands in my pockets, Kickin these rocks. Its kinda hard to watch this life go by. I'm buying in the skeptics, Skeptics mess with, the confidence in my eyes I'm seeing all the angles, starts to get tangled I start to comprimise My life and the purpose. Is it all worth it, Am I gonna turn out fine? Oh, you'll turn out fine. Fine, oh, you'll turn out fine. Cause you gotta keep your head up, oh, So you can let your hair down, eh. You gotta keep your head up, oh, So you can let your hair down, eh. I know it's hard, know its hard, To remember sometimes, But you gotta keep your head up, oh, And you can let your hair down, eh. Only rainbows after rain The sun will always come again. And its a circle, circling, Around again, it comes around again. Only rainbows after rain The sun will always come again. And its a circle, circling, Around again, it comes around, You gotta keep your head up, oh, So you can let your hair down, eh. You gotta keep your head up, oh, So you can let your hair down, eh. You gotta keep your head up, oh, So you can let your hair down, eh. I know it's hard, know its hard To remember sometimes, But you gotta keep your head up, oh, So you can let your hair down, eh. about

The idea behind this project was to write songs that would make you feel like it's summer all year long.

Story behind each song:

YOU AND I-This song is about the importance of relationships. After watching a webcast from a prominent leadership speaker, I took each point from his message and translated it into this song. The whole idea is about adding value to others. I love this song because it truly has added value to many people...letting them know that aren't alone.

NEW DAY- One of my favorites from the album because I got to record with my friend singer-songrwiter Malynda Hale. I was shopping at a grocery store when suddenly I got the idea for a hook ..."Oh, Oh...Oh, Oh" and that's how this song was born. When I wrote the song I was thinking about how important it is to stay united when things get tough. It could be rough today but tomorrow we all have a chance to enjoy a clean slate. There is a Psalm in the Bible that talks about there being "pain in the night, but joy comes in the morning". New Day is about putting a smile on people's faces.

I DON'T WANT TO RUN- I wrote this song when I first moved to New York City. After a long and exhausting day..Vanessa (my wife) and a friend of mine went out to eat Chinese food. He had moved to NYC about 4 months before me and was sharing with me his ups and downs of the city. He is an actor, and as you can imagine there's tons of competition and the fact that just trying to get by is a struggle. He said to me "even though it's tough here.. I love it because it is a city full of dreamers" That line stuck in the back of my head. A month later the hook came out one day as I saw people running behind the subway trains. I made a vow to never do that...it only lasted about a month. Soon I was like everybody else..living in the hustle and bustle of NYC. Many times I thought about leaving the city immediately but I always remembered what my friend said and figure I would give it my all while I was there. I discovered that the real reason for me living their was to have met some of the best friends I would keep for life.

CAMOUFLAGE- One day my little girl came back from pre-K and shared with me that they were reading the Dr. Seuss books in class. Out of nowhere she belted out the word Camouflage. This was the missing piece to a song I had been writing. Camouflage is about the feeling of letting go of those relationships that started great but end up sour. Maybe I am too much of an optimist but I feel that relationships are never too late to mend..at the same time I have also learned that sometimes you only have a limited window of time with a person to share life together. This has to be the saddest song I have ever written.... I love it though because sadness is part of being human.

THIS CHRISTMAS- I am not a huge fan of Christmas music. Maybe because it is all you hear during the holidays..So ironically enough I wrote this Christmas song.. in July. I feel like Christmas in July makes better sense..everybody tends to be more relaxed in the summer. The other reason I wrote this song was because I was practicing my bar chords on the guitar and it felt natural. What I didn't realize till after I recorded it ..was that the verses had the same feel as "Sittin' On The Docks Of The Bay" by Otis Redding.

BETTER- Is the first time Vanessa (my wife) and I have recorded a song. It was pretty awesome to share the studio with her and to work on this song that started off as a jingle for our BETTER TOUR Fundraising campaign. This song though has a deeper meaning. For example the opening line says "from the day that we're born someone's out to make us a cry"..I imagine a little baby being born and the first thing he gets is a slap in the butt..ouch! Life has a lot of those moments but we have to press on.

HIDE- This song was a last minute call... it basically has a more electric guitar sound, with a more aggressive feel. The song kind of captures the perspective of a person who is being tried, yet is innocent. Inspired by watching Law & Order, Prison Break and some real life events. I decided this song was going to have a lot of court language in it.

KEEP YOUR HEAD UP- Is a cover song by Andy Grammer.. I love his story of being a street musician in California..and how he felt like giving up and then this song came to him. I've been there many times. The heart and mind is a battlefield..even though I've lost many battles.. a song like this reminds me that the war is not over and that I have to keep my head up and keep going cause defeat is not an option.
